mitsuaki murata was born and raised in Japan. Passionate by the visual arts since he was young, he studied at the Visual Arts Osaka, worked at Studio Folio Ltd in Tokyo, and assisting different photographers after moving to London in 2000.
He began his photographic career in London, shooting on portrait and Journalism photography early years, and focusing on fashion photography eventually.
Over the years mitsuaki worked for wide range of Japanese and British magazine, such as Harper’s Bazaar Japan, GQ Japan, Rolling Stone Japan, Velour Magazine, Prim, Flux Magazine, Time Out and also client include, Muji, Ilya Fleet and Hardy Amies among others.
Outside of his editorial and commercial work, mitsuaki is constantly working on personal projects which he hopes to exhibit in the near future.
He has moved back to Tokyo, Japan.
